Neo compatible adress and staking with ONT

Hello,

I have some question that I’m confused about.

  1. Why can’t I access ONT staking with a Neo compatible adress on Owallet? This leads to question 2.
  2. How can I access my staking funds without O3? Maybe it’s safer to move staking to an ONT only adress with Owallet.
  3. Can my Ontology Neo compatible adress hold all OEP tokens or should I use an ONT only adress?

I ask these thing because O3 has too many issues and it’s not the first time. Are your servers down?

I can’t connect with other apps. In Neo Economy I get - connect with O3 - but I am. It just doesn’t recognize me. In the NEO store I can’t buy items because it doesn’t recognize my funds, I have enough GAS but it just won’t work. O3 doesn’t communicate with any browser (edge, chrome, brave, IE, firefox). If things are supposed to work can you send me a message? Thanks

They are probably fixing the problem.

Hello,

It’s being worked on and your funds are safe regardless of the fact you cannot access the site. Also it does not matter whether your Ontology address is NEO compatible or not, OEP tokens are fine for either.

  1. Почему я не могу получить доступ к ставкам ONT с Neo-совместимым адресом на Owallet? Это приводит к вопросу 2.

Hi,

I know that my funds are safe but I’m staking for the longterm and what if O3 pulls the plug (I don’t check it often)? How can I withdraw my stake without using O3?
Because it’s a NEO compatible address I can’t access it with Owallet. And I don’t understand why Owallet can’t do that with a NEO compatible address. That’s why it might be better to switch staking to an ONT address only so I can use both O3 and Owallet in case one pulls the plug.

Hi,

I get your point. I’m not sure why Ontology has chosen to lock out and separate from NEO addresses on purpose, it’s not really user friendly. Of course we are not planning to pull the plug in the foreseeable future and if we did someone could still make a similar service, but if you really want that certainty I think the only option would be to switch to an Ontology only address. You would still have to unstake everything and move it to a new wallet though…
